This is my first dyson. I have an oreck upright but it gets overwhelmed by pet hair on my hardwood floors. After several weeks this canister seems to fit my needs perfectly. I love how it fits under and around my furniture easily. I was impressed at how it never got choked up. My only complaint is that the cord is so short. If the cord was longer I would give it a perfect 5. Overall I would recommend this to people with pets.

I cannot give a 5 star for a few reasons, the cord is way too short, not sure why they made it that way?? It's heavy but you have to get use to it, this is my 3rd Dyson, it has great suction and the attachments stay on and does not fall off in the middle of using. I like it overall - makes the first Dyson look obsolete.

I love this vacuum. I have hardwood floors throughout my house and 2 dogs and 2 cats and never have pet hair anywhere. I love the idea of having all the tools accesible to as I can just move room to room and have everything right at my fingertips. This vacuum is compact and stores so easily and it is quiet also. The only shorcoming it has is the short cord but since it retracts that must be the reason that it is so short. I will only own a Dyson.

I received my dyson a week ago and this replaces a bagless hoover canister that still runs and puts the hoover to shame. This is well worth the money, I was lucky and brought at the special price $399. This has cut my cleaning time in half, you know your home is clean and easy to store. I have 2 small dogs and they are more comfortable now when I use the Dyson, alot quieter than the hoover.
If you are planning on buying a new vacuum, you will not go wrong when purchasing a Dyson DC21.

My floor has never been so clean! (Hit the max fill line 3x & only have 1500 sq ft & 3 pets)! $ well spent! Swivel head is great; allows cleaning in places never reached before (w/out moving furniture or getting down on hands & knees w/ attachment). Fits under more furniture & under the bath counter w/out getting stuck. Cleans right up against wall which will save pulling out the edge tool as often. Hose kinks but easily fixed w/ a quick twist of the hose @ the handle. LOVE IT! Thanks Mr.Dyson!
